A hikers motto. Take only pictures. Kill only time. Leave only footprints. Brian and I did just that on Saturday at Starved Rock State Park. We took about a 5 mile hike through several different trails. Creatures were seen all over the place along with wonderful views of the Illinois River and canyons. Brian even talked me into eating a freezed dried meal for lunch. Lasagna. It was not too bad. We just had to hurry and boil the water before a park ranger or someone saw us with our little camp stove!

In the Spring there are many waterfalls. This would be one of the places where a waterfall would be.

King Frog! The picture really does not do this frog justice. He was huge! I named him King Frog.

We thought this fallen tree looked like a horse coming out of the side of the hill.
Isn't it amazing how in our flat state there are places like this!
